I am a professor emeritus of Suffolk University in Boston and a visiting professor at Cranfield School of Management in the U.K. I am an award-winning careers scholar, a principal developer of the ICCS Career Exploration System and managing director of Intelligent Careers Group LLC. I now focus on, write for and consult with individuals seeking to practice career ownership in their lives. My past work includes the books "Handbook of Career Theory" (with Tim Hall and Barbara Lawrence, 1989), "The Boundaryless Career" (with Denise Rousseau, 1996) and "Knowledge at Work" (with Robert DeFillippi and Valerie Lindsay, 2006). Most recently, I co-authored the popular book "An Intelligent Career: Taking Ownership of your Work and Your Life" (with Svetlana Khapova and Julia Richardson, 2017). I have been a visiting professor at the University of Warwick, the University of Auckland and London Business School and am a frequent international speaker on contemporary careers.
